In simple terms, pigmentation refers to the colour of our skin. In scientific terms it refers to the amount of melanocytes on our skin.
Their are a large variety of contributing factors to pigmentation in the skin but a few to mention are pregnancy, hormonal fluctuations and medications being a few to mention.
Understanding your pigmentation is a crucial element in your skin journey. Your sin therapist will educate you on whether your pigmentation is 'constituitive' or 'facultative' pigmentation. Constituitive pigment is something we are unable to change as this relates to our fitzpatrickskin tone (without UV exposure), hormones and mandatory medication required for optimal health.

Acne is a skin condition characterized by blockages and/or infection in the Pilosebaceous Unit (Hair follicle/sebaceous gland)
When a hair follicle becomes blocked, it results in either pimple formation of blackhead appear on the skin. When the follicle becomes blocked, it means that oxygen is no longer circulating in that follicle and this is when bacteria proliferates. There are 3 main imbalances we consider when working with client with acne.
1. Quality of Sebum (oil)
2. Retention Keratosis (what is causing the blockage)
3. Incorrect skin pH
Acne can be caused by hormone imbalances, poor gut health, liver health, medications, medical conditions, genetic DNA, and so much more.
The treatment of acne requires intence motivation and commitment to a tailored acne program. We scale this level of motivation on a 1 - 10 scale. If your ready to make that commitment be sure to book in with one of our skin therapists and together we will get a skincare + skin treatment plan started.

As we age, so does our skin. What this means is that the cells functions declines resulting in increased appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, glycation and loss of density.
Intrinsic ageing is genetically and partially due to hormonal factors such as decline of estrogen and other hormones that decline the skins quality. Extrinsic ageing is related to all external factors such as UV, environmental damage, diet, and free radicals. As collagen slows down, the elastin fibres begin to breakdown over large areas of tissue and our dead cells are building up. An ageing skin will show signs of fine lines, loss of volume, colour change and texture change.
A skin consultation with our skin therapist will allow correct product prescription and a treatment plan will be provided to give you guidance on what to expect and when you should be seeing visible results.
